Install Adblock Plus in Chrome Windows XP

I still use Windows XP it is the most straight forward OS I've used in my life. And its not a security issue if you know what you're doing. Its 25th May 2017 when I'm writing this post and Google has stopped making Chrome for Windows XP.

I have managed to smuggle a copy of Chrome Version 43.0.2357.124 from some place on the internet.

After I installed Chrome on my PC, it was obvious for me to get rid of the ads, can't live with them.

Tried installing ABP (AdBlock Plus) from chrome web store, it says "Not Compatible" it needs a newer version.

Fortunately I had another XP machine with Chrome and ABP both installed. I checked the version of ABP addon.
It said, 1.12.4, so I also managed to smuggle a copy of Adblock Plus Version 1.12.4.

Download Adblock Plus v.1.12.4, here.

or

Here.

But Google Chrome won't allow me to install the addon manually, said it can't install extensions/addon's from external sources.

Decided to do a little research found out this secret command which should be used in Chrome's shortcut while application launch.

    –enable-easy-off-store-extension-install

Do this and launch chrome, open your extensions page by going to,

"chrome://extensions" and drag/drop that .crx addon on this page and it should be installed.
