How do I Batch Scan using Canon Pixma G2010

Upon researching I got to know about a very useful utility in Windows OS, called "MouseKeys".
Here is how to use it,

  1. Press (Left) Alt + (Left) Shift + (Right) NumLock
  2. Choose Yes
  3. Now on your numeric keypad 8 simulates up, 6 simulates right, 4 simulates left and 5 simulates click action of a mouse pointer.
  4. Now you may hover your mouse on the scan button and simply press 5 to get it started.

Get rid of "Found New Hardware" usbstor.sys drivers Windows XP

In Windows XP when I tried connecting a USB Flash Drive it started asking me to install the USB drivers, every new Pendrive I used to connect would bring that  "Found New Hardware" dialog 3 times until it automatically installed a driver  called usbstor.sys in c>windows>system32>drivers

I searched and found this interesting similar experience by someone,

https://arstechnica.com/civis/viewtopic.php?t=165599

Below is the list of dlls which are not registered with Mircrosoft

Softpub.dll
Wintrust.dll
Initpki.dll
Dssenh.dll
Rsaenh.dll
Gpkcsp.dll
Sccbase.dll
Slbcsp.dll
Mssip32.dll
Cryptdlg.dll

To solve this problem we will create a new file in notepad++ (you may use notepad as well)

regsvr32 Softpub.dll
regsvr32 Wintrust.dll
regsvr32 Initpki.dll
regsvr32 Dssenh.dll
regsvr32 Rsaenh.dll
regsvr32 Gpkcsp.dll
regsvr32 Sccbase.dll
regsvr32 Slbcsp.dll
regsvr32 Mssip32.dll
regsvr32 Cryptdlg.dll
pause

Paste above lines beginning from regsvre32 till pause and save that file with, .bat (batch) extension and simply run it, just keep pressing yes to all the prompts.

Install Adblock Plus in Chrome Windows XP

I still use Windows XP it is the most straight forward OS I've used in my life. And its not a security issue if you know what you're doing. Its 25th May 2017 when I'm writing this post and Google has stopped making Chrome for Windows XP.

I have managed to smuggle a copy of Chrome Version 43.0.2357.124 from some place on the internet.

After I installed Chrome on my PC, it was obvious for me to get rid of the ads, can't live with them.

Tried installing ABP (AdBlock Plus) from chrome web store, it says "Not Compatible" it needs a newer version.

Fortunately I had another XP machine with Chrome and ABP both installed. I checked the version of ABP addon.
It said, 1.12.4, so I also managed to smuggle a copy of Adblock Plus Version 1.12.4.

Download Adblock Plus v.1.12.4, here.

or

Here.

But Google Chrome won't allow me to install the addon manually, said it can't install extensions/addon's from external sources.

Decided to do a little research found out this secret command which should be used in Chrome's shortcut while application launch.

    –enable-easy-off-store-extension-install

Do this and launch chrome, open your extensions page by going to,

"chrome://extensions" and drag/drop that .crx addon on this page and it should be installed.

Picasa some images are not visible

Picasa is a image viewer and manipulation software created by Google.

But me, I use it for printing multiple images on one sheet on my windows xp.

When you start a program it automatically scans your computer for pictures.

But sometimes its not showing up all the images you wished to, its because picasa by default ignores images with dimensions 200px by 200px or lower, it thinks of them as icons or simply not important.

You may make Picasa to disable this awful feature and show all the images, even the small ones by selecting "Small Pictures" option in the view tab.

Now you shall be able to see all the pictures!

Enable flash player in Opera Browser on Windows

There was this issue particularly faced by me on my Windows 8.1 pro x64 Laptop.

Hell it would never detect Flash Player, no matter how much time I play with it,Opera is a great browser but they are not able to point out the flaws efficiently.

Flash Player is a generic requirement these days which is easily installable on Firefox, IE and comes bundled with Google Chrome by default.

  • First you need to check whether its enabled in the plugins menu of Opera,

  • If its still not working then check out following steps
  • Uninstall any previous installations of Flash Player
  • Download Flash Player for Opera from this Link
  • Choose Download Flash Player for Opera and Chromium based applications - PPAPI

  • Close all browsers and install it and now it should be working in Opera.

Mozilla Firefox get rid of "This plugin is vulnerable" Flash Player message

That message seems helpful when your version of flash player is outdated and needs to be updated in case you're a civilian.

This message annoys you when you know what you're doing, when you are an IT expert.

Some organizations which are not so concerned about their version of flash player just want to get rid of this annoying message in firefox. Here are the steps;
